The Happy Prince

The Prince was a gold statue. A swallow came along and the prince asked him to take his eyes (which were sapphires) to give to poor people.

I liked the story because it's about helping poor people which makes me happy, but the ending is sad, so I started to cry. When my Mummy and Daddy read it to me they start to cry too!

Also in this book: The Selfish Giant

There is a Giant who is selfish because he doesn't let children play in his garden, so it is always winter and spring never comes to the garden. The selfish giant wonders why it is still winter. Then the giant learns how to not be selfish - which makes me happy - but it has a very sad ending.
