The Bartimaeus Trilogy Book One the Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud is wonderfully written with lots of sarcasm and tons of footnotes, some telling you about creatures some just vainly talking about how great Bartimaeus is. The plot of old enemies and a young magician trying to make his way in the dangerous world of enmity and revenge with a twist of aggravation and sarcasm. In an Adventure/Fantasy set in modern day London this book could be no less funny if only maybe because of the footnotes. Nathanial trained by a crackpot wizard who can’t do even as well as Nathaniel, (Although Nathaniel is amazingly good at magic.) and Bartimaeus the sarcastic, will subject you to many footnotes that will find you rolling on the floor laughing. I hope you enjoy this epic tale of young sorcerers and demons.
