My favourite book is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire which is the sequel to the third Harry Potter book Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This book has similar themes as the first three books, namely, the battle of good over evil, adventure, friendship and the growing up of Harry and his friends.

In this book, fourteen year old Harry Potter goes back to Hogwarts school of wizardry for his fourth year. Harry is maturing as a wizard in training and is still surrounded by his best friends Ron and Hermione, however, someone puts his name into the goblet of fire for the best of the best wizardry contest which is meant for older and mature students. To add to his troubles, Harry and his friend Ron have a major misunderstanding and Harry is stalked by a rumor-mongering writer for "The Prophet" (wizard newspaper) who seems determined to destroy Harry, Dumbledore and Hogwarts. Harry's arch rival and the villain of the book, Voldemort, is back.....open up the book and the let the adventure begin!

In many ways, this book is a turning point because not only are the main characters "growing up" but the battle between good and evil broadens, setting the stage for the tone of future books. Elements of the plot are dark and can be scarier for younger children. I enjoyed the book thoroughly although it is much, much longer than the previous three don't be intimidated by the length. If anything, the added length extends the pleasure of reading it and I simply could not put it down.
